Data Privacy Day is an international effort held annually on Jan. 28 to create awareness about the importance of respecting privacy, safeguarding data and enabling trust. The movement began in the United States and Canada in January 2008 as an extension of Data Protection Day, which involved the Jan. 28, 1981 signing of Convention 108 in Europe, the first legally binding international treaty involving data privacy and protection.
The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) officially began the Data Privacy Day event to align with the most current privacy issues in the effort to provide greater data privacy awareness and education. Throughout the year, the NCSA educates on how to own your online presence and shows organizations how proper data privacy methods are good for business.
Here at neoRhino IT Solutions, we take everyone's data privacy very seriously. We are a #PrivacyAware Champion, as certified by the NCSA. Data Privacy Day Champions represent those dedicated to empowering individuals and encouraging businesses to value and protect their data privacy.
