With every team-focused collaboration source, there are bound to be several hidden features that could enhance your user experience. Microsoft Teams is rapidly gaining traction for businesses to work together virtually and it has a multitude of features both large and small to help make working together easier, faster, and even more fun.

We’ve previously covered a few tricks in Microsoft Teams that you could use in your daily lives and keeping with neoRhino’s “Teams in 5” initiative, here are 5 MORE Useful Microsoft Teams Tricks That You Can Use.

  • Emphasize your text with the Rich Text Editor. Similar to Microsoft Word, text chatting in Teams has a Rich Text Format tool that lets you make portions of your text stand out where you want them to.Click the Format button at the bottom of the text box and the Rich Text format option row appears. You can bold, underline, highlight, change size and even include links, both to conversations within Teams and to outside websites. And speaking of links…
  • Sharing links to files and channel conversations in Teams. Did you know that from your channel conversations to files within SharePoint, you can send a direct access link to them within Teams?Click the Ellipses (…) button when you hover over a Teams Channel, file, or channel thread and select Get link or Get Link to Channels. This creates a link that you can copy to your clipboard and share within the team. You cannot share messages that are in private chats, though you can use links to SharePoint files within private chats.

You can also use the Rich Text Editor to place the link for that channel in a message as a hyperlink. Our employees use this feature often to provides updates to teammates on file progress.

  • Blurring your background became so much more. Microsoft recently added the ability to blur your background during a video chat in Teams but they have upped the ante and added new colorful backgrounds for you to use. When you join a meeting, select Blur Background Option and choose which background you like the most, which range from outer space, to a classroom, to a swanky apartment. You can also add your own backgrounds by clicked the + (Plus) icon in that window to select your favorite picture as a background.
  • Forwarding emails so they don’t get lost. Important emails can often get mixed in the number of messages that hit our inboxes every day. Teams allows you to forward specific emails into a chat or channel easily so you can share it with your team.Choose the Team or Channel

you wish to forward the email to, click the ellipses (…) button, then choose Get email address. Teams will give you an email address for that specific Channel that you can forward the email to as well as files and documents you wish to share. For example, when you choose a team or channel to get the email address for, it will look similar to this:

    General - SALES TEAM <63b13484d2.rhynotel.onmicrosoft.com@amer.teams.ms>

Then, forward the email that you wish to share with to that address. They will receive a summarized version of the email in the channel for them to open.

  • Praise your employees. Do you want to give someone on your team a shoutout for doing a good job? Teams give you the option to do so with the Praise feature. All you have to do is reply within a Teams thread or individual chat and choose Praise (the badge icon) or click Messaging Extensions and choose Praise. You can send them a custom message and choose a badge for them to display with pride.
